The Jane Austen Birthday Ball Weekend will be celebrated at Alton Library with activities for adults and children on January 18.
Adult visitors can explore the Jane Austen Collection and a unique collection of memorabilia relating to the author and her work in a drop-in session from 10am until 4pm.
A spokesperson said: “Local historian Jane Hurst will be with us for much of the day to answer any questions you may have.”
Children can become Regency fashion designers by taking part in a Jane Austen-themed children’s craft activity drop-in session from 10am until 11.30am.
They can dress their own cut-out dolls of Regency ladies and gentlemen. It is suitable for children aged from six to ten. Parents should stay with their children.
