Police have launched a witness appeal after linking an attempted burglary in Odiham to a spate of similar crimes in a nearby town.

A would-be thief left empty handed after attempting to break into a garage on Farnham Road sometime overnight on Thursday, July 4.

The culprit attempted to get access sometime between 11pm and 3am but was unsuccessful.

The attempted break-in has been linked to a similar incident in Fleet the next day where a 5ft 6in man gained access into a house on Gainsborough Court around 8.30am.

The culprit was disturbed by the homeowner and fled the scene with nothing being reported stolen, with a similar incident taking place a few roads away around 3am.
