FOR three years Anne Marie Martin’s house in Whitedown, Alton, has lit up the street with a blaze of Christmas lights which has helped her raise money for various charities, including Cancer Research UK and Young Epilepsy.
This year the house was all aglow again, after Mrs Martin switched them on on December 1, and with a donation box on the gate, people who came to admire the show were invited to give money which she will donate to Bushy Leaze Children and Families Centre.
She decided to support the centre, which is special to her as her children and grandchildren have been pupils there, and it has lost some of its funding.
Just before Christmas she found she had topped her total from last year and raised more than £450, including a donation from John Huntleys Scrap Metal Merchant in Buriton which, she said, was much appreciated.
