Alton School has extended a helping hand to the local community by making a significant donation of food to the town’s food bank as part of its harvest celebrations.
Children from the nursery through to the sixth form collected food produce, with a large amount being collected. These donations were displayed at the senior school harvest assembly and the lower school harvest festival.
The harvest festival, attended by parents and grandparents, featured delightful musical performances, choirs, theatrical plays and colourful artwork. At the end of the harvest festival the Year 6 children read prayers and thanked everyone for the gifts collected.
Headmaster Andrew Reeve expressed his heartfelt gratitude.
He said: “We are deeply thankful to everyone who contributed to this remarkable act of generosity.”
