A charity which has provided lunches to elderly Altonians for more than half a century needs a helping hand of its own.
The Vokes Old Peoples Welfare Trust is looking for new trustees due to the “increasing age profile” of its existing board.
The Normandy Street charity wants to put a succession plan in place to ensure its ongoing viability as time takes its toll.
Trustees play a leadership role and ensure the good cause meets its charitable objectives and legal obligations, while providing operational oversight.
Applications are welcome from any backgrounds but managerial and organisational experience in the private or public sectors would be advantageous.
Trustees also need to have an empathy with elderly people and a commitment to the services the Trust provides in reducing isolation.
