Students at Alton College attended its annual careers fair to discuss their job and education prospects with representatives from businesses and universities.
They were introduced to regional and national companies covering a variety of fields including engineering, the armed forces and facilities management.
These representatives were able to give the students valuable insights into the workplace by talking about the wide range of employment opportunities available.
Universities with stands at the event included Portsmouth, Chichester, Solent and Southampton.
Their representatives spoke to the students about the benefits of higher education, student life, and the details of various undergraduate study programmes.
There were also stands showcasing Alton College’s higher education courses and apprenticeship programmes.
Alton College is part of HSDC, and similar fairs were held at Havant College and South Downs College in Purbrook, also run by HSDC.
HSDC careers manager Kate Creswick said: “Our annual careers fairs welcomed 70 exhibitors and over 1,000 students across HSDC and from local schools, at all three of our main campuses.
“Exhibitors were impressed with the students, who they said were all ‘really enthusiastic when talking to us’ and ‘had lots of great questions’.
“Opportunities on offer included a mix of degree, apprenticeship, employment, volunteer and gap year options. We were also pleased to welcome back a number of HSDC alumni manning the stands.
