Alresford Art Society will be opening the doors of Alresford Community Centre to stage its annual exhibition from tomorrow until Sunday.
More than 100 works will be for sale, including paintings and folios in watercolour, oil, acrylic, pastel, wire relief and sculpture, along with hundreds of cards printed from original artwork.
There will be seascapes, landscapes, local views and buildings, vibrant holiday destinations, delicate flower studies and portraits.
Alresford Art Society president Sue Gentry said: “We are delighted that contemporary artist Paul Treasure will be doing the honours and will open this year’s exhibition at the society’s preview night, which is being sponsored by Hellards estate agents.”
Prizes will be awarded for the People’s Choice – voted on by exhibition visitors and won last year by Jeannie Pakenham’s watercolour painting The Sightseers – best oil painting, best acrylic, best floral, best new exhibitor and best watercolour, named in memory of talented Alresford watercolourist Rachel Thomsen.
This year’s exhibition in West Street will be open from 10am to 5pm tomorrow and Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
