Police are appealing for information following a brawl outside a town centre restaurant in Farnham over the weekend.

Officers were called on Saturday, February 22, after reports of a fight involving a group of about seven men and women in the Lion and Lamb Yard shopping precinct.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of the The Luxe restaurant and Côte Brasserie.

One man was taken to hospital, while a woman was treated at the scene for her injuries. A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with the altercation and has since been released on police bail.

A witness described the chaotic scene. He said: “There were two couples leaving a restaurant and a group of about three young men who’d been drinking in the pubs, and they seemed to start an argument.

“There was a fight, and it all kicked off. One man, who was about 50, was injured and got taken away in an ambulance.

“It’s usually quiet around here, so I was surprised to see something like this take place.”

The police investigation is ongoing, with officers pursuing multiple lines of inquiry. They are urging anyone with information, including those present at the scene that evening, to come forward.

The Lion and Lamb Yard, known for its high-end restaurants and boutique stores, has witnessed several incidents in recent years.

In July 2024, police arrested five people following a fight in which three individuals were injured, including one man who required hospital treatment.

That same month, The Luxe was targeted in a late-night vandalism attack. The Mediterranean restaurant’s front windows were smashed and parts of the interior damaged by a gang of four men.

Surrey Police urged anyone with information about the latest incident to contact the force on 101, quoting crime reference number PR/45250021703.
